Word doc-did I just screw up big time?
Okay...here's my potential problem. I took the first part of a Fire Captain promotional exam today. In it, we were placed at a computer, given a scenario, and asked to formulate a report. We were limited on time and when complete, our report was saved to a thumb drive...it was a Word document.
I noticed after three or four lines on my second page, that with each additional line, it appeared that the top line would jump off of the page, almost as if it was being added to the first page. Time was up, so I just finished and was able to quickly scan to the beginning of my report...it appeared as if everything was okay with the beginning.
I didn't have time to proofread, but I'm now questioning where those top lines of the second page may have gone. I fear that they may have been deleted from the report.
I'm obviously pretty clueless with anything but basic computer work, but can anyone explain what may have occurred from this limited amount of info?
They went to the first page. I dont know of a reason why they would have been deleted if you were just using word. But what happens is when u start on the next page of a word doc no matter if its the 2nd or 100th it sees how much more your going to type and decides if its enough for that next page. hope this helps
