RWD vs AWD on the 2011 Dodge Charger RT Plus?
I'm looking to buy a 2011 dodge charger RT Plus. It comes in both RWD and AWD. But what makes the AWD special is that it will switch from AWD to RWD as needed, without driver interaction. Which means it's RWD most of the time, but will switch to AWD when needed.
So which is better? RWD or AWD? Keep in mind, I will want to drive it in the snow without having any issues. The AWD is heavier and more expensive.
A car cannot be AWD and RWD. Its either always RWD, AWD (which means variable) or full-time AWD (four-wheel drive). Newer AWD cars have electronic differentials and the computers transfer power to the wheels with grip. Therefore, when going from a stop, the rear wheels have the power, and when cornering, some of that power is transferred to the front wheels.
