What Makes Black The Best Colour for Gadgets?
This may seem like a strange question to ask, why do we love getting black gadgets, however, when you think about it, it does make you wonder. The majority of people will know by now that we as a nation are a bunch of gadget fanatics. Whether it's an iPod, a mobile phone, or a netbook. Everyone has a few gadgets that they take with them everywhere they go and simply can't live without.
However, when it's time to get yourself a new gadget, why do we always pick the same colour, black.
The question occured to me while I was reading an article about the upcoming black version of the Nintendo Wii. Nintendo have announced that they expect to see a boost in Wii sales with the release of their black edition gaming console. However, why would they automatically think that they will get a sales boost just because they release the console in a new colour. It's not like their competitors are blowing them out of the water simply because they have black versions of their console. In fact, more Nintendo Wii's have been sold that their competitor consoles, and the Wii is white.
The query about why black is a popular gadget colour isn't just restricted to the gaming industry. Just take the phone market as an example. When the iPhone was released, the black version sold out faster than the white version. Pretty much every phone on the market is either available in black or only comes in black, just look at the shelves.
Another market where this question can be asked is in the television market. Less than 10 years ago, you could buy a new TV in almost any colour, with silver and black being the most popular, you could even buy blue or pink if you really wanted to. However, now it's an almost impossible task to find a TV that isn't black.
These days, pretty much all gadgets are available in black, from retro alarm clocks to emergency chargers. It's hard to see why we are so attracted to black gadgets. Even though black gadgets don't show the dirt as much, they do attract alot of dust quickly. Plus, if a black gadget gets damaged, the marks are more visible than if it was silver or white.
For those of you who are not huge black gadget fans, for the time being, you can still get some other colours. Although this may change in the future, you can still pick up a bathroom caddy without it only coming in black. As for the question of why is black a popular gadget colour, I'm stumped, anyone else have a better incite?

Will this be able to run games like skyrim and all the upcoming games?
Thanks
that in modern day, wouldnt even play older games well (2008-9) never mind newer ones. you want my advice? make your own. its a hell of alot cheaper and extremly easy. if you actually want to buy a gaming pc, get one with a Radeon 6850 Min For AMD or if you want a nvidia card get one with a gtx 460 or a gtx 560 ti (there extremly good cards for the money)
also aim for quad core, the six cores on that pc you were looking at will make hardly any differnce in the gaming insustry at the moment.
PM Me if you want me to build you one, just give me your budget and i will see what i can do
